Rechargeable Battery Fixed Load Test Platform PDF Print E-mail

Rechargeable Battery Fixed Load Test Platform

The Rechargeable Battery Fixed Load Test is executed on a platform capable of testing AAA, AA, C, D and 9v batteries.

Each platform provides 4 independent test channels and a terminal interface allows for a Data Acquisition hookup to a PC.

Rechargeable Battery Fixed Load Test Platform Specifications

The Rechargeable Battery Fixed Load Test Platform provides 4 Channels:

  • Ch1: AAA, AA or D
  • Ch2: AAA, AA, C or 9v
  • Ch3: AAA, AA, C or 9v
  • Ch4: AAA, AA or D

Rechargeable Battery Test Platform Design Considerations

During the design of the rechargeable battery test platform, considerations were made to ensure that minimal error in battery testing was introduced. Each channel consists of two basic parts, the device under load circuit and the test points.

Major considerations included :

  • PCB track sizes and tolerances.
  • component tolerances.
  • test ( measurement ) point tolerances.

All the components are commercial products purchased from Digikey and all PCB track sizes were designed well beyond expected test voltages and currents.

Rechargeable Battery Test Platform and Test Results

Each rechargeable battery test platform is tested and the test results are calibrated according to each channel on each platform used.

That means that if Channel 1 of platform 1 has its "10 Ohm" load tested and measured at 9.8 Ohms, 9.8 Ohms is used to calculate the results of any rechargeable battery tested in Channel 1 of platform 1.

That means that if Channel 3 of platform 2 has its "10 Ohm" load tested and measured at 10.1 Ohms, 10.1 Ohms is used to calculate the results of any rechargeable battery tested in Channel 3 of platform 2

etc...

We expect results to be accurate within a tolerance up to +/- 2%.
