A leader in battery technology, Panasonic Canada is introducing new R2 Technology - the next generation of rechargeable batteries that stay charged and ready to use when you need them most.

Panasonic is on the cutting edge of rechargeable battery technology, with the introduction of R2 Technology. Only available in Canada, R2 is the second generation of rechargeable NiMH battery. Designed to enhance your rechargeable battery experience, R2 provides an ideal power solution for todays frequently used, popular high drain devices, such as digital cameras, MP3 players, as well as common household items like remotes and flashlights.

Ordinary NiMH batteries lose much of their charge after six months in storage. Panasonics new R2 Technology NiMH features a super low self discharge rate, so batteries retain up to 80% of their charge even after 6 months in storage. R2 Technology batteries are shipped in a charged state and can be used right out of the package, just like ordinary disposable batteries.

R2 Technology is re-defining the charging standard. Instead of charging your batteries before use, R2 Technology batteries should be charged after use, prior to storage - so they will stay charged and ready to use the next time you are ready to play, take pictures, or listen to your favourite music.

The new R2 Technology NiMH batteries can be charged up to 1000 times, making them an economical and environmentally friendly power solution for all your high tech, high drain digital electronics as well as commonly used household devices. Just one package of four AA rechargeable batteries is equal to 4,000 ordinary alkaline batteries.

R2 Technology batteries are also available as part of complete charging kits. The BQ390 and BQ321 chargers are compact, include a flip out plug, are world wide voltage adaptable, and feature individual charge control. The BQ396 with LCD charge indicator lets you charge at home or in the car!

R2 Technology NiMH batteries are available in AA and AAA size, with a manufacturers suggested price of CDN $24.99 for a pack of four. Full kits with charger are available starting at a manufacturers suggested price of CDN $49.99 up to CDN $79.99.
