NiMH Battery FAQs and InformationNiMH batteries are now more widely available than NiCd batteries. They are not as effective as NiCd batteries at delivering high rates of discharge for short periods of time. Page 1 of 9
They are perfect for medium high drain devices such cameras, flashes and other portable digital devices. NiCd batteries are more suited to higher drain devices like power tools, high power backup equipment, medical equipment and toys such as RC cars and trucks. The best way to protect your investment is to buy a charger that will terminate a charge based on -delta V and delta T. An option to charge at a high rate or a rate below c/10 is a must. Trickle charging and conditioning should also be in your option list.
