The AAA NiMH battery performance test is also an indicator of quality or value. If you paid for a 1000 mAh AAA NiMH battery, would you be satisfied with the performance of a 750 mAh battery?

The AAA NiMH Battery Performance test reveals the capacity ( also known as mAh ) or energy delivered ( also known as Wh ) of each AAA NiMH Battery ( see FAQs for more information).

Understanding AAA NiMH Battery Performance

The AAA Great Battery Shootout results below are easy to understand. The column AAA NiMH Battery "Actual Capacity (%)" is a calculation of the percentage of the total capacity delivered.

Example : If a NiMH battery label says 2000 mAh and the rechargeable battery delivers only 1800 mAh, then the NiMH battery delivered only 90%. You only got 90% of what you paid for.

100% is expected. A higher the number means a better NiMH battery.
