The AA NiMH Battery Performance test reveals the capacity ( also known as mAh ) or energy delivered ( also known as Wh ) of each AA Rechargeable Battery. see Glossary for more information.

AA battery performance is also an indicator of quality or value. If you paid for a 2900 mAh AA battery, would you be satisfied with the performance of a 2500 mAh battery?

Understanding the AA NiMH Battery Performance

The results below are easy to understand. The column "Actual Capacity (%)" is a calculation of the percentage of the total capacity delivered.

Example : If a battery label says 2000 mAh and the rechargeable battery delivers only 1800 mAh, then the battery delivered only 90%. You only got 90% of what you paid for.

100% is expected. A higher the number means a better battery.

Self Discharge Tests

All NiMH and NiCD rechargeable batteries lose their charge over time, even when they are not used.

Rechargeable battery storage performance is important if you use a device periodically. This could be a flashlight or the kids toys or walkman.
