How many cycles have these batteries been through so far?
The forming charge with the Maha MH-C9000 is one approach.
Some brands work close to their peak capacity after only one or two charge / discharge cycles. Sometimes more cycles are required.
Since you have the LaCrosse BC900 ( was that a typo BC-700 ), you could also use the refresh mode. It will cycle your rechargeable batteries until it has estimated that no further increase in capacity is achieved. It will give you a capacity readout. You could then test the capacity using Discharge Mode in the Maha MH-C9000 to verify.
You could also use the Maha MH-C9000 Refresh and Analyze mode. It is a single cycle operation and tells you the capacity. You could manually do this a few times until you see no further increase in capacity. You could use the LaCrosse BC900 Test Mode to verify the capacity.
